Keeping things safe and sure at PICK•A•ROO

At PICK•A•ROO, we take the safety of our partner merchants, riders, shoppers, and customers very seriously. We have stringent safety and hygiene protocols that are applied throughout our value chain which includes carefully vetting partner merchants, properly training our PICK•A•ROO, and strictly mandating contact-free delivery and pick-up.

Before our shoppers and riders are deployed, they are required to undergo rigorous training which includes dedicated sessions on health and hygiene. During which they are taught how to conduct at home self-check for symptoms before coming to work. They are also taught basic guidelines on what to do when coming home from work to ensure the safety of their own homes.

Temperature check is done every morning and as soon as shoppers and riders arrive at work. Each shopper or rider will need to input their temperature in the PICK•A•ROO app. If their temperature is around 37.5, they will not be allowed to go on duty and will be asked to go home.

Shoppers and riders must always wear proper uniform which includes safety and hygiene equipment such as their PICK•A•ROO personal protective equipment uniform, gloves, facemask, and face shield. They are also required to wash and sanitize before and after every job order. During their free time or in between jobs, they are strictly prohibited to congregate in groups.

All deliveries are guaranteed contact-free between shoppers, riders, merchants, and customers. Shoppers are asked to bring items to a designated pick-up point, leave the push cart or bags with items in the said pick-up point, and let the rider collect and place in their delivery bag.

When delivering to customers, riders must adhere to contactless delivery even when handling cash-based orders.  When riders deliver products, they will be asked to let the user know they have arrived, place the order outside their door, and wait in safe distance for the customer to collect the delivery before the order can be completed. Customers who opt for cash payment must place their payment inside clear plastic bags which will be provided by the riders.

Riders are strictly tasked to sanitize their delivery bags before and after work. They are also required to clean their bags after every delivery.
